Deon Meyer fell in love with this part of the Karoo when he came to Jakhalsdans. This inspired him to make the movie Jakhalsdans and later lead him to buy a house in Loxton - a place where he could relax and write.
Karoonag Cottage is that very same house.
Stay in the home that helped inspire many of Deon's books including Fever (Koors), Karoonag, Trackers, Blood Safari and more.
The cottage has 3 rooms. 1 en-suite and the other two share a bathroom with a bath and shower.
Two gorgeous stoeps look out over the karoo plains. Gazing out over these, you really don't even feel as if you are in a town.
The back stoep has a lovely braai area.
The house has a special country, homely feeling and can take 6 guests. There are also two extra beds for kids.
This self catering cottage is not on Jakhalsdans Farm but is found nearby within the small Karoo town of Loxton, between Carnarvon and Beaufort West.
